Ahead of the municipal elections, Almere will host an English-speaking Political Parties Panel at the International School Almere.
The event creates space for international residents to engage directly with local political parties, ask questions, and better understand how municipal decisions affect daily life in the city.
For many internationals, this will be the first opportunity to participate in a public political discussion in English. The aim is to make civic participation more accessible and to lower the threshold for engagement.
Dutch residents who feel comfortable in English are equally welcome. Integration works best when communities come together in shared conversations about the future of the city.
Many international residents registered in Almere are eligible to vote in municipal elections. This panel offers an opportunity to become informed and take part in local democratic life.
The event will take place on Thursday, March 5, from 19:30 to 21:30 at the International School Almere. Admission is free. Registration is required.

Politiek Partijenpanel in het Engels op de International School Almere
In aanloop naar de gemeenteraadsverkiezingen organiseert Almere een Engelstalig Politiek Partijenpanel op de International School Almere.
Het evenement biedt internationale inwoners de mogelijkheid om rechtstreeks in gesprek te gaan met lokale politieke partijen, vragen te stellen en beter te begrijpen hoe gemeentelijke besluiten het dagelijks leven in de stad beïnvloeden.
Voor veel internationals is dit de eerste gelegenheid om deel te nemen aan een publieke politieke discussie in het Engels. Het doel is om de drempel tot betrokkenheid bij de lokale democratie te verlagen en deelname toegankelijker te maken.
Ook Nederlandstalige inwoners die zich comfortabel voelen in het Engels zijn van harte welkom. Integratie werkt het best wanneer gemeenschappen samenkomen in een gezamenlijk gesprek over de toekomst van de stad.
Veel internationale inwoners die in Almere staan ingeschreven, zijn stemgerechtigd bij de gemeenteraadsverkiezingen. Dit panel biedt hen de kans om zich goed te informeren en actief deel te nemen aan het lokale democratische proces.
Het evenement vindt plaats op donderdag 5 maart van 19.30 tot 21.30 uur op de International School Almere. Toegang is gratis. Aanmelding is vereist.
